Private Banker - Portugal Desk
We are seeking a Private Banker – Portugal Desk in Lisbon to join a prestigious private bank. Advise HNW/UHNW clients, deliver tailored investment solutions and drive portfolio growth.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop and manage long-term relationships with high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients in Portugal.
- Provide personalized wealth management, investment, and financial planning solutions tailored to client needs.
- Acquire new clients through networking, referrals, and proactive business development.
- Advise clients on a range of financial products including equities, fixed income, funds, structured products, and alternative investments.
- Collaborate with investment advisors, portfolio managers, and product specialists to deliver holistic client solutions.
- Monitor and assess client portfolios, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and risk profiles.
- Ensure compliance with Portuguese and EU financial regulations, KYC, and AML requirements.
- Lead the onboarding process for new clients, managing documentation and risk evaluation.
- Prepare and present portfolio reviews, investment updates, and market insights.
- Contribute to the growth strategy of the Portugal Desk through client retention, cross-selling, and referrals.
YOUR PROFILE
- 10+ years of experience in private banking or wealth management, ideally serving Portuguese HNW/UHNW clients.
- Proven track record in developing and managing long-term client relationships.
- Strong understanding of the Portuguese market, client needs, and investment landscape.
- In-depth knowledge of investment products: equities, bonds, funds, structured products, and alternatives.
- Solid grasp of financial planning, portfolio construction, and asset allocation principles.
- Familiarity with local and EU banking regulations, cross-border compliance, and KYC/AML standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; professional certifications (CFA, CAIA, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Native Portuguese speaker with fluency in English; Spanish or another language is an advantage.
