Capital Markets Portfolio Analyst

A KSA-based investment management firm with an international and multi-asset investments exposure, and a professional team, is looking to add a Capital Markets Portfolio Analyst to their Beirut office

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will manage capital markets portfolios and investments across global equities, fixed income, and derivatives markets.

  • Monitor capital markets portfolio positions and propose entry, exit and replacements based on fundamental research as well as technical analysis.

  • Propose new trade ideas in global equities and fixed income within portfolio parameters.

  • Review and monitor portfolio risk related metrics such as leverage, FX and asset class exposure and separately track portfolio Cash Flows.

  • Monitor financial markets and portfolio related news flow to report to the investment committee on a regular basis.

  • Prepare trade execution orders for capital markets to be sent to the trading desks.

  • Analyze and monitor portfolios’ tactical and strategic allocations, propose adjustments where necessary as well as opportunities/techniques to hedge portfolio risks.

  • Prepare research notes for portfolio management team related to macro/microeconomics, forex, commodities, interest rates, as well as portfolio reports, performance summaries, and market commentary for internal and client use.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have 2-3 years of investment management experience, preferably in capital markets, including an experience in capital markets investments and research and a good understanding of risk management methodologies. Performance measurement experience is an added advantage.

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and a CFA level 1 passed (or enrolled into CFA program).

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.

  • You have experience working with Financial Data Terminals (i.e., Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, and/or FactSet Workstation).

  • You possess a strong knowledge about global financial markets and macroeconomics.

  • You are a fast learner and a team player, and are willing to grow in this industry in the long term.

  • You know to get the work done within deadlines, and are able to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet business deliverables.

  • You are analytically minded with strong problem-solving skills

  • You have a strong understanding of investment markets and settlement and of portfolio NAV calculations.

  • You are strong in MS Windows applications, specifically Excel and Power Point.

  • You are willing to assume responsibility and take ownership of tasks assigned
