Fund Administrator - Accountant
A KSA based investment management firm with international multi asset exposure is looking for an organized, detail-focused and proactive Fund Administrator – Accountant, to join its office in Beirut.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This newly created position reflects the ongoing expansion of the organization’s fund platform across both domestic and international markets.
The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end administration and oversight of current and future fund structures, ensuring the integrity of fund operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, closely collaborating with external administrators, custodians, auditors, and internal teams including Finance, Legal, and Investments.
In addition, the position will support the Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) business through periodic NAV reporting and participation in initiatives to enhance reporting processes and operational efficiency.
Fund Administration and Governance:
Maintain comprehensive and secure records of all fund-related documentation, including legal agreements, offering documents, investor records, and service provider contracts.
Serve as the main internal contact for administrative matters relating to fund structures.
Oversee the performance of external service providers, ensuring compliance with agreed service standards and escalating issues when required.
NAV Review and Reconciliation:
Conduct detailed analytical reviews of quarterly NAV reports prepared by external administrators, verifying accuracy, completeness, consistency, fee calculations, valuation adjustments, and performance movements.
Reconcile NAV statements against internal accounting records and underlying portfolio information.
Investigate discrepancies, resolve variances where possible, and escalate material issues as appropriate.
Custody and Cash Oversight:
Liaise with custodians to obtain regular portfolio holdings and cash account statements.
Monitor and reconcile fund cash activity to ensure accurate recording and transparency of transactions.
Produce internal reports covering cash balances, liquidity positions, and related fund metrics.
Investor Transactions:
Coordinate the processing and monitoring of investor subscriptions and redemption requests alongside administrators and internal stakeholders.
Verify that all investor documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
Work closely with relevant teams to manage approvals, timelines, and investor-related changes.
Audit and Financial Reporting:
Maintain a strong control environment across fund operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and readiness for audit reviews.
Coordinate with external auditors and fund administrators to facilitate the timely completion of audited financial statements.
Review draft financial statements and supporting schedules prior to finalization.
Assist in responding to audit inquiries and ensuring supporting documentation is readily available.
Regulatory and Compliance Support:
Partner with the Legal team to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including Cayman, Jersey, and prospective Saudi feeder structures.
Support regulatory submissions and reporting obligations, including the collection and coordination of information required for FATCA, CRS, AML, investor reporting, and other jurisdiction-specific requirements at both local and international levels.
Process Enhancement and Fund Expansion:
Support the launch and operational onboarding of new fund vehicles and structures.
Identify opportunities to strengthen fund administration procedures, internal controls, and reporting practices, and assist in implementing improvements.
Discretionary Portfolio Management Support:
Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly NAV reporting for discretionary portfolio mandates.
Contribute to automation initiatives and efficiency improvements within reporting and operational workflows.
YOUR PROFILE
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (progress toward a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA is a plus).
You have 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in fund administration, fund accounting, or middle-/back-office functions gained within asset management companies / private banking institutions / global or regional custodians / brokerage firms / fund administration providers (e.g., Apex, Maples, or similar).
You possess a strong understanding of NAV production, fund flows, and reconciliation procedures.
You have experience in fund launches and / or onboarding activities as well as familiarity with a broad range of global financial instruments.
Previous experience with open-ended funds and/or offshore fund structures, including jurisdictions such as Cayman or Jersey, is desirable.
Experience operating within outsourced fund administration models such as administrators, custodians, auditors, is preferred.
Exposure to multi-jurisdictional fund structures would be advantageous.
